Second Life search engine allows residents to search for a particular information in Second Life:
- Places
- Regions
- People
- Groups
Most residents use the "All" tab which search through all objects mentioned above.
Technical details
According to SL Wiki, Linden Lab uses a Google Search Appliance to index web pages created at 3AM and 3PM each day.
LL claims it may take up to three days for results to actually get indexed, but usually a parcel gets indexed in 24 hours, and changes are being re-indexed in 12 hours.
